This reading series contains the complete text of four Hans Christian Andersen fairy tales. After starting the program choose the story you want and it will be displayed on the screen. After reading the story the student presses [ESC] and is asked a series of questions about the story. When the student is finished the program will score the answers and print out a score sheet to hand in.
The series includes the following stories.
Each time the file is used it will ask 5 randomly selected questions from a pool of 19. While answering the questions you may return to the story.
Each time the file is used it will ask all 10 questions. While answering the questions you may return to the story.
Each time the file is used it will ask 5 randomly selected questions from a pool of 14. You may not return to the story once you begin answering the questions.
"The Emperor's New Suit"
Each time the file is used it will ask all 10 questions. You may not return to the story once you begin answering the questions.
Meanwhile I need your help. Please evaluate this series and let me know how you feel about it. I am interested in an evaluation of the software, the questions, and the parameters of the quiz, ie. ask all the questions or some from a pool, go back to the story from the questions or not, ask questions in random order or the same order every time? Should the student or only the teacher be able to change the parameters when taking the quiz? Feel free to make any other comments you would like. Address e-mail comments to daleharris@Prodigy.net
The evaluations I receive will be used to fine tune this series and help me decide if it should be continued. If you like it and want more, say so. It will always be free and avilable on my website here, but for me to make more of them some interest needs to be shown by others. I am looking forward to your comments.
Has anyone in your class, or the whole class together, written a story. Or would they like to? Would they like to see their stories made into chapters of this reading series?
Great news. If you send to me by email your story, at least 10 questions related to the story, and any black & white graphics to be attached to the story, I will compile them into a file and email the file back to you. I will also upload the file to this website.
Unsure of this deal? Send in one story, see what you get back. If you like it, send in more stories. How can you lose? For more details click on the email link above.
